Iowa Eastern Divsion
Looking West
The KCS – IED is a proto-freelance railroad set from about 2000 to 2015. The railroad will depict two adjacent cities. The background will be buildings mostly with very little landscape as I have never done this type of modeling before.
I wanted to stray a bit away from the general and mostly modeled sweeping hills or mountains. It has a fair amount of switching that could keep at least 3 operators busy for a while.
I am running the Digitrax EVO system in 8 amp mode so that as time goes on and I add more sound to my locomotives the system can handle it. As far as signaling system, it will have one but a different style. The signals will tell the operators which direction a turnout is. I know this isn’t prototypical however I am trying to simulate the signals but make it easier for operators to know which direction the switch is.

Currently, dispatching is a “mother may I” set up. I would like to get it to having an actual dispatcher, eventually, to be able to add another person to the mix.
