Hello!
I'm new to the hobby and new to model railroad talk. Ive only listened to a few episodes so far, but I'm enjoying it and has alot of useful information. Anyways my name is Jake, 30 years old and worked for Norfolk Southern for two years before moving to California on a job opportunity with another company. I was a conductor running from Chicago to Elkhart, and Elkhart to Bellevue. I also spent a decent ammount of time working yard jobs in Elkhart. Anyways I have just started researching model railroading and I am extremely interested in it as a hobby. So onward to my goals for 2024.
Goal 1: Start a savings for this new hobby while researching and learning all I can.
Goal 2: Meet some local like-minded people to share the intrest with.
Goal 3: Plan a simple Branch Line style layout. Goal 4: Build said plans keeping it simple yet leaving room for expansion.
I hope 2024 goes well for all of us where ever we are and we all succeed in our goals.
Hi Jake. I'm about in the same place you are, about modeling. Binge-watching videos, and listening to Model Railroad Talk while doing chores. Nice to meet you, virtually.
Those are some Great goals. There can be times the goals seem far away, but always keep your eye on the prize and what you want to build will come!
